"So this is Christmas"

Has it come early for me? I probably shouldn't tempt fate, but I do believe I've finished my degree! The re-sit went well (well, much better than the previous two attempts anyway!) I don't get the mark till the end of January so am waiting waiting waiting. Cheekily, I asked lecturer if she could sniff, or wink or something if I had achieved the pass mark - but she outright refused. Jobs worth! She did however start her voice message by saying "I don't think you have anything to worry about but ... " and later, that the delay shouldn't stop me from applying for jobs in the next 6 weeks - followed by commenting that the re-sits (if I've failed again) are next July! Early circumstantial indicators therefore, are that it's job done - and I will continue to celebrate as such, while in the quiet recesses of my mind waiting and wondering on confirmation, as I do not trust the institution as far as I would like to throw it!

So this pic is me and sis, Anna, at the end of a very long friday/ xmas/ celebration night out (the first of 3). Head's a little fuzzy this morning ... Ho ho ooooooooooooh!

the Big little one

So it's all down to this. One day to go until my final, final, final - hopefully - degree exam. The 30 minute practical that I have - miraculously - managed to scuff ... twice!

"Strike 3!"

By 1400 tomorrow Friday 15th, I should have an inkling as to whether it's job done. By 1500, I hope to have persuaded the examiners to give me a nudge and a wink as to whether I have achieved the minium pass mark of 40% which is all I need now to qualify. Thanks to the barn-storming grade I got for my last essay, I only need 59% (only, Nick?? with my track record on this one!) to get a 1st for the module.

Final push. Right then - back to the books.

Heaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaave!

LOOK! An exotic bird ... with a parakeet on her head! (boom boom!)

Babushka shows us around his home (below)

Caught napping (below) .. no, seriously (this pan is his fave spot and I had to climb up to top shelf and point camera phone over the lid to catch this private moment.

Just your typical morning at Chris and Mike's place in Finham, Coventry - where we spent last weekend.

The Ruler's ruler!

Mike takes a beating .. and doesn't appear to mind losing .... a morning outing to Kenilworth Castle, near Coventry last weekend. And the Ruler crack? Jo bought me a "Ruler's of England" ruler, which lists every single monarch since Danish rule (1017, if you must know). So kids, the lesson starts with William 1 (The conqueror of course) in 1066 - but where do the next 12 inches take us? I reckon I have memorised the first inch so far, which takes us from 1066 through to 1199 ... answers on a postcard (without Googling it!) to me, by email. Go on, have a dig!
