So this is Christmas

Hmmm this was not supposed to happen. 1 day into my festive break, an annoying hacking cough (that had not stopped me working where half the department had fallen over the previous 2 weeks) turned into a nasty chest infection with cold thrown in, to boot. 1 week later and 3 days into gp prescribed meds not much has changed yet. Phlegm still thick and green and still up half night with coughing fits. Stumbling over the finishing line in the marathon that was 2008. Looks a lot like the end to last year but so much more has changed. And so much more to look forward to ... Once this pesky chest problem clears. A 'fitting' end i guess if u consider I've had a lot to get off my chest this year! Yuk ... in more ways than one (stay with me here!). All the best in health, wealth, heart and happiness for 2009. Der Nicklaus Kommt

Clever chap that Santa. Knowing all the good little kids with 2 homes and making sure he visits them in both, in good time. Quite literally, Christmas come early for the little one! After completing my latest 9-day straight, 74hr workathon later today, what better way to celebrate than getting home to Christmas dinner (strike1!) with bubbly, crackers and a home full of festive cheer?

Tally ho ho ho, Merry Christmas xxx

Wooft...

Interesting footie article re: Barca's prolific goal-scoring record this season (43 in 12 games ...); however what made it noteable for me was the dry, 'after read' comments from HolyTamoly & MenCallMePhil:

MCMP: "that photo is unsettling. Messi looks like he's staring at me whilst slow dancing with somebody else..."

HT: "I hadnt noticed that about the photo until MenCallMePhil pointed it out... that is a really creepy picture... Messi undressing you with his eyes... Wooft..."

I laughed out loud ... I've been around the world, but our sardonic and understated humour always pulls me back!

Cut crystal no less ..

Since i wont be having a 'run up' to christmas to speak of this party season due to work, commute and fatigue, i decided to treat myself today to a bottle of scotch, my xmas tipple of choice. Here's me enjoying some blended malt ... From cut crystal no less, before i go heathen and 'ginger' (my real favourite christmas tipple). Que plebo! Feliz Navedad! Xxx

'All the Fours ... 44!'

Happy Anniversary Mum and Dad. A whopping 44 years married today! You get less for murder ... Make sure you cut all the fat off that sirloin and don't cook in butter if you plan to get to 45!

:-)

Have a great day. N xxx

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

the high (and low) lights of the first page of today's entries at PostSecret.com. One of them is clearly Good but I can't decide on the bad or the ugly... just like a long running family argument about the 1966 film (and family classic) of the same name

'So here it is ...'

'... Merry Christmas ...'! Well, not quite. Dec 1st. An unusually early start (but not unlucky in dec right?!) to this joyous christian festival ... Particularly given the landlady professes to be an atheist! F led the decoration ceremony. Will have to dig out some classy angel hair to dampen down this 'catalogue chic'. Does look pretty tho. But needs a fairy yo?! May have to hunt around town and see if i can find one this sat. Ho ho ho xxx
