* Fruhlingsfest is the Oktoberfest's little sister (kleine wiezn) ... think Beer .. lots of beer, then pretty maiden's in rural attire and boys in lederhosen .. quite an experience. Thanks for a great birthday present, meine kleine bruder, Thomas. Loved it!

Easter Break

White noise ...

Blimey. The 'Blogosphere' has lift(ed) off into the stratosphere in the last year or so, thanks to the new ubiquity of twitter and facebook. I found it difficult to post anything that would add value, about the Japanese 9.0 Richter Scale Earthquake and ensuing Tsunami, death and destruction. What on earth can you say. This coupled with the on/ off coverage of the death and destruction that has emerged with the 'Arab Spring' in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Yemen make my irregular musings on my health and weight status kinda grotesque (to me) if I am honest. A little shallow. That is not me, but everybody everywhere now has an opinion on everything and are freely expressing it to all and sundry in the 'blogosphere' - my two pence worth add nothing to this deluge of nothingness so I choose to keep schtum. With regards to this 7 year old blog ... well I almost pressed delete a few weeks back, but decided to 'take it offline' instead. That way it remains/ becomes/ continues to be a personal space for me to record the minutiae in my own life. nothing more. 'Rant' over, Shawn ; - )

The 4 month weigh in

- Alcohol free, since Dec 31st
- Weight: 11st 13lb (a further loss of 5lbs, it seems, in the last month)
- 23lbs/ 10.5kg/ @1.75 stones lost since first weigh in, on Jan 3rd (@ >1lbs/ wk)


Averaging 1,350 calories/ day. Getting boring now ... nice to fit into clothes I have not seen in 3 years though ... and one weird observation - my right thigh is one inch smaller in circumference to my left (my right leg muscles are much smaller than my left) .. and I am supposed to be right sided .. go figure
