All things rare and beautiful

le dejeuner a la rive sud mit Annische und Christos

Not nearly enough family get-togethers this year . Fair play to big bro, Miles, who dished out the invites to musical camping extravaganzas earlier this year that we in Brighton could not attend. A conundrum to be sure, how a family of 7 organise the logistics around meet ups en masse. I don't have the answers - I just know that it feels most unsatisfactory. Miss y'all. And that's before the business of trying to be more involved in the lives of friends past and distant. I miss 'all y'alls asses' (possibly the single most memorable quote of my 2 years in Texas!)!

The 5 month weigh in

Health Goal completion on the horizon ... Focus? The BMI Target:

74.4KG = 25.7 BMI (Current , as at 2nd June, 2011)
73.0 KG = 25.3 BMI (Final Project Goal, July 6th Deadline)
72.3KG = 25 BMI (End of 2011, 12 month Goal)
72.1KG = 24.9 BMI (Ultimate Long Term Goal)

Context?

I was 86.7KG* (BMI 30) on January 1st, 2011. A loss of 2 stones (28lbs) to date through better awareness of calorie consumption, limiting alcohol and introduction of mild exercise regime (1.5hrs/ wk). July 6th deadline in view. The final push. C'mon ..

86.7KG = 13st 10lb
74.4KG = 11st 10lb
72.1KG = less than 11 and a half stone

11 stone would be nice (70KG) and was my perennial (unachieved/ unachievable) target when I was cycling 50-60 miles a week back in my early/ mid 30s so don't hold out much hope for that ...
